EUCHARIST MINISTERS
Serve at Mass by offering consecrated bread and wine, Body and Blood of Christ, to those coming for Holy Communion. These ministers must be Catholics in good standing and appointed to this ministry by Bishop Trautman. They need to be persons of faith since their ministry is an act of faith to those coming to receive Communion in faith. Both men and women can be Eucharistic Ministers although it is usually reserved for those in high school and above who have been confirmed. An orientation and training program is required and service is usually exercised according to a schedule of every three to four weeks. Coordinator is Mrs. Carol Hoffman (459-0191) or Msgr. Sullivan (454-2486).
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS FOR HOMEBOUND
These ministers provide for parish members who are unable to come to Mass or who live in one of the retirement/assisted living facilities within the parish. All of the requirements listed above for Eucharistic Ministers apply. There is a rotation ordinarily of every three to four weeks for this service.
LECTORS
These men and women are commissioned to proclaim God’s word at Mass and other liturgies. Lectors ordinarily need to be confirmed and in high school. Training is provided as well as lectionary materials so that readings can be prepared in advance. The schedule is published for a two-month period and lectors usually rotate every three to four weeks. They may also be asked to serve for special liturgies during the year. Coordinator is Mrs. Carol Hoffman (459-0191) wk (455-5853) and Kathy Baldwin (454-4956).
